In our own words
Here is where the ad for the game goes. "The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge."
- -Albert Einstein
Evolution is terrifying. But it is a necessity. Not just for individuals, but for their societies. Without it, there is only stagnation, and the chaos caused as change remains untempered by fortune. Now, with the greatest conflict in the history of the United Federation of Planets having ended, with the future of its Alliances uncertain, the next step into the great unknown, the next stage of evolution not just for the UFP but for all the races it encounters, must begin.
The Dominion War has been over for just over a year, the last Jem'hadar battlefleets have retreated or been dislodged from the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Starfleet has launched a Task Force into the Gamma Quadrant, through which, with only the uncertain mechanism of the Bajoran Wormhole for contact home, a new stage in the history of Federation expansion and evolution begins. The Starships Vanguard and Marathon, as the most important ships in this task force, are entrusted with a task vital to this next stage in the exploration of the galaxy: the construction of the first permanent Federation outpost in the Gamma Quadrant.
But every foothold, each handhold, dislodges stones, and every tumbling stone can cause an avalanche of rocks down into the Abyss underfoot. And the Federation is not the only civilization reaching terrified of falling into the Abyss, nor scrambling to ascend and evolve...
