In our own words
In Europe and other parts of the world preternaturals are not trusted and may be hunted. In the United States, however, they have legal rights. They are real and in the eyes of the Law, the "Monsters" are People..
Etiquette can keep you alive, or be your death in this world. There are rules about how vampires greet each other, how lukoi challenge each other and how each faction interacts. Formality is 'peace', especially when situations are tense. Informality is death, or worse.
In spite of the preternaturals among them, humans number quite a bit more than the monsters. They hold the jobs the shapeshifters and vampires cannot. Some of the humans are more monstrous than the monsters themselves. There is a man they call Death. He hunts the Monsters, because humans got to be too easy.
They may be people in the eyes of the law, but there are many who see them as Monsters. - Hate groups, illegal hunting, terrorism. Shapeshifters are hunted in some states for their skins. Vampires are killed for being vampires.
City by the Bay is set in Modern times San Francisco. We accept concepts for non-master or alpha; vampires, werewolves, wererats, wereleopards, werehyenas and humans readily. With pre-approval we accept concepts for rarer werecreatures, witches, psychics, animators.
